IP & Legal
IP & Legal creates the best, legal framework for collaborations between UCPH researchers, private companies and other external partners. The office negotiates IP agreements on behalf of UCPH thus creating the best possible legal framework to ensure that the research-based knowledge can be transferred to and used by existing or new companies.
IP & Legal is responsible for:
- framing the university’s collaboration with external partners in the best possible way. This includes the negotiation of all agreements regulating university IP (Intellectual Property). Agreements include research collaboration agreements, license agreements, material transfer agreements (MTAs), non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), PhD agreements, etc.
- Protecting and handling university IP
- Managing UCPH’s patent and license portfolio
